A Medically-Informed and Compassionate Approach

We understand that depression is a real and complex condition, often involving physiological factors. Our approach integrates evidence-based frameworks like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with a deep sense of compassion to provide holistic care. Our focus includes:

Challenging Unhelpful Thoughts

Using frameworks like CBT, we help you identify and challenge the negative thought patterns that fuel depression, allowing you to get "outside your own head" and break cycles of rumination.

Building Psychological Flexibility

Our goal is to equip you with practical strategies to deal with adversity. We focus on enhancing your resilience so you are better prepared to navigate future challenges.

Professional and Accurate Support

We believe in the importance of professional diagnosis to distinguish clinical depression from general sadness, ensuring you receive the most effective and appropriate therapeutic support for your specific needs.

FAQs

  • Our Depression Counselling services are provided by our team of psychologists. Life to the Full employs a multidisciplinary team of suitably qualified psychologists, counsellors, coaches, and theologians, all of whom are members of their respective accrediting bodies. This team includes clinical psychologists and registered psychologists.

  • The number of sessions varies depending on your individual needs and the complexity of the issues being addressed. Typically, clients may begin with weekly sessions, which can be adjusted over time as you progress. On average, a therapeutic relationship may last anywhere from a few sessions to one or two years, depending on your progress and goals.

  • Sessions are structured similarly to standard therapy sessions. Your initial session is generally 80 minutes long, designed for the practitioner to gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation and for you to share what has brought you to us. Subsequent sessions are usually 50 minutes long. While breakthroughs may occur, the first session primarily focuses on setting the context for effective treatment. We prioritise professional diagnosis to accurately distinguish clinical depression from general sadness, ensuring you receive the most effective and appropriate therapeutic support for your specific needs.

  • Our services are available in-person at our Sydney office, located at Suites 7 & 8, 14 Narabang Way, Belrose NSW 2085. We also offer services online nationwide via telehealth. Telehealth has been proven to be a very effective therapeutic method, and clients are often willing to engage in online sessions, particularly when they know they can connect with a Christian therapist.
